INDIANAPOLIS — The city of Indianapolis announced a few weeks ago they would be closing a homeless encampment off of Virginia Street and Interstate 65 on Monday, Aug. 11.
However, on the day of the move there was no change.
Throughout the day, 13News did not see anyone from the city start the moving process, only friends and family of the unhoused people helping them pack their things.
Tyler Pack is one of those people. He said his name is on three different housing lists, but right now has nowhere to go.
"I have to pack my stuff up and just find a place to go," he said.
The city announced the closure on July 25 . This came after 13News reported on the tension between the encampment and the Fountain Square residents who live across the street.
