LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) -- A shooting at the Cuyahoga County Fair last weekend is prompting law enforcement across Northeast Ohio to review and strengthen their security plans.
The Lorain County Fair opens Sunday, Aug. 17, and runs through the 24th. This year, the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office will take over as the official security partner for the event, replacing private security used in past years.
Sheriff Jack Hall said they pay attention to incidents at other fairs and take steps to address potential risks. He would not reveal specific tactics, but said the changes are aimed at preventing trouble before it starts.
