LINCOLN COUNTY, N.M. —

Lincoln County residents affected by recent flooding and storms may be eligible for disaster food assistance benefits.

Residents can apply for the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, known as D-SNAP. Applications are open from Monday, Aug. 18, through Aug. 24.

D-SNAP was approved to the county after being requested by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. About 7,297 households may be eligible.

The 1,309 households already receiving SNAP benefits may also be eligible for more benefits. The Presidential Disaster Declaration includes all of Lincoln County following the severe flooding and storms beginning June 23.
