UPDATE: A Ringgold man is in custody following a shooting in East Ridge on August 10, 2025, East Ridge Police say.

Mark A. Porto, 42, was arrested without incident after officers with the East Ridge Police Department (ERPD) tracked him to a residence on Shady Drive.

Porto is charged with three counts of aggravated assault and one count of reckless endangerment.

The arrest followed a shots-fired call in the 5600 block of Ringgold Road, the Los Potros Mexican Restaurant.

Officers responded quickly, gathered evidence, and interviewed witnesses, which led them to Porto’s location.
