AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Here’s a safety alert for people who have been shopping in Aiken.

Credit card skimmers were recently found at a local business.

Turmoil rekindles at long-troubled Wagener Fire Department

After some initial work on getting things in order at the agency based in the town of about 800, the appointed fire chief decided not to accept the job.

The Aiken Department of Public Safety posted to social media about the skimmers.

Officers warned that when you use your credit card at card readers or ATMs to check for skimmers.

Make sure there’s no alignment issues with the reader and panel below it.

You can also check by wiggling the reader to see if it comes out of place.
