GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A boater was airlifted to the hospital after a weekend fire, the U.S. Coast Guard Great Lakes division said.
It happened Saturday around 2 p.m. on Lake Erie, the USCG Great Lakes said in a social media post. It said its Marblehead station received a report that two pleasure craft boats were on fire at the Put In Bay Harbor near South Bass Island in Ohio.
The driver of one of the boats had gone into the water after getting burned, the Coast Guard said. The boater was rescued by nearby Good Samaritans and EMS personnel and was later airlifted to a nearby hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown. • The U.S. Coast Guard Great Lakes division responded to a boat fire Saturday. (Courtesy U.S. Coast Guard Great Lakes) • The U.S. Coast Guard Great Lakes d
