KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - An Olathe East alum will get his shot to compete for a spot on his hometown team.

The Chiefs announced Monday they’ve signed free agent defensive end Nate Matlack.

Matlack played at Kansas State from 2020-2023, before transferring to Pittsburgh for his final collegiate season.

The move came after the team placed safety Deon Bush (Achilles) and defensive end Janarius Robinson (foot) on the injured/reserved list.

The Chiefs have just two practices left in St. Joseph. They’ll play their second of three preseason games Friday night in Seattle at 9 p.m. CT.
