Oregon could lose out on $15 billion in federal funding over the next six years as President Donald Trump's budget reconciliation bill goes into effect, a preliminary analysis found, with changes to Medicaid and SNAP requirements making up the majority of the projected funding cuts.

Gov. Tina Kotek shared the projections and more detailed impacts, calculated by Oregon's chief financial officer along with state agencies, on Aug. 11.

The current 2025 to 2027 budget cycle is expected to have fewer cuts, about $1 billion, than the next two biennium before more changes go into effect.

H.R. 1, also referred to as the One Big, Beautiful Bill Act , made several changes to taxes and federal funding, including an extension on tax cuts from 2017, tax deductions for seniors and cuts to Medicaid
