STONE RIDGE, N.Y. — Seventeen cadets recently graduated from SUNY Ulster’s police training program, with a majority of them already hired by local law enforcement, the college said Monday.
The graduation ceremony was held on July 24.
The cadets were officially recognized for completing the “rigorous program that prepares them for careers in law enforcement,” the college said in a news release.
This year’s class achieved a 94% employment rate, with 16 of the 17 graduates hired by area police departments, including the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Ulster Police, Town of New Paltz Police, Town of Goshen Police, Town of Woodstock Police, and the Village of Ellenville Police. The remaining student is expected to be employed before the end of this year.
