A multi-day heat event will continue through Tuesday and, possibly Wednesday, in some areas.

The acting medical officer of health for Grand Erie Public Health issued an extended heat alert for the Grand Erie Public Health region (Brantford-Brant and Haldimand-Norfolk) on Monday afternoon.

The daytime high on Monday could peak at 35C, with humidex values of 37 to 42. Overnight lows are expected of 20 to 23C.

Tuesday’s weather is forecasted to be much the same.

Environment Canada says a cooler air mass is expected to arrive Tuesday night, bringing an end to this heat event. But there is the possibility eastern Ontario and the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area could see hot and humid conditions continue into Wednesday.
