TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Tens of thousands of students went back to the classroom in Leon County Schools Monday morning.

It was an exciting day for many parents, including Heather Harris. Monday was also a milestone for her son, Christopher, who started sixth grade at RAA Middle School.

“I’m very excited about him going back to school and embarking on this new journey,” Harris said. “I want him to be his genuine self and enjoy the experience.”

Harris also went to RAA Middle School and is happy to see her son carry on the tradition.

“Some of the same faculty and staff are still here, so I’m quite comfortable with him being here,” Harris said.
