The Mahoning County OVI Task Force will conduct a sobriety checkpoint at a location not yet announced from August 15 through 17.
According to the media release, local saturation patrols will take place this week as well.
A 1990 U.S. Supreme Court ruling requires that drivers be notified before sobriety checkpoints are conducted to avoid violating constitutional protections against illegal search and seizure. The ruling did not specify what constitutes adequate notification.
Details of the location and time will be released later in the week.
