DELAVAN, Wis. -- An Illinois man died over the weekend after drowning in Delavan Lake.

Emergency responders were dispatched to Delavan Lake near Lake Lawn where first responders located Mohammed Hussauni, 33, of Lombard, Illinois, unresponsive on a boat.

A preliminary investigation indicates Hussauni had entered the water from the boat when he began to struggle and became submerged. The Town of Delavan Police Department reported, he was reportedly wearing a life preserver at the time; however it appears it may have been too small to provide adequate floatation. He was pulled back onto the boat and brought to shore, where those on scene immediately began life-saving measures.
