President Donald Trump claimed he is going to Russia to meet with leader Vladimir Putin on Friday—but he is actually going to Alaska.
Trump told reporters last week he would be meeting with Putin in Alaska on Friday to discuss an end to the Russia-Ukraine war, but during a press briefing on Monday, he repeatedly claimed he was visiting Russia instead.
“It’s embarrassing. You know, I’m going to see Putin. I’m going to Russia on Friday," he said during a briefing announcing a federal takeover of Washington, D.C. " I don’t like being up here talking about how unsafe and how dirty and disgusting this once beautiful capital was with graffiti all over the walls."
