A man has been detained after two people were killed in a shooting at a Target store in North Austin on Monday afternoon.

Austin Police said shortly before 3 p.m. that they were investigating a shooting at the store while warning those in the area that the "suspect is still at large" and "DO NOT APPROACH."

Just after 3:30 p.m., Austin Police confirmed the suspect had been detained but did not reveal any other details about the man's identity or what led to the shooting.

KXAN-TV, the NBC affiliate in Austin, reported that in addition to the two people killed, two others had been hurt in the shooting, according to a message sent to the city council and mayor.

Police have provided no other information about the victims.

The store is located along the 8000 block of Research Boulevard/MoP
