A GoFundMe set up for a couple who both lost their left legs below the knee in an Orillia motorcycle accident has raised more than $70,000 in six days.

The original goal was $65,000.

Brian and Debbie Haynes were on their bike on July 26, 2025 when, according to the GoFundMe, a young driver crossed into their lane, causing a collision.

The GoFundMe says Brian was airlifted to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto and Debbie was also transported to Sunnybrook after an emergency assessment in Orillia.

Both underwent two surgeries which resulted in the amputation of both their left legs below their knees. Debbie also suffered a broken finger and lacerations, while Brian sustained lacerations and fractured ribs, neck, and back.
