DANVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - An investigation is underway after a bunch of dogs were found abandoned on a roadway.
The dogs, most of them puppies, were found along a road in Boyle County.
The sheriff is looking to charge whoever is responsible.
Nine puppies and a mother dog were all found abandoned on a rural Boyle County road. Sheriff Taylor Bottom says the pavement was hot, and they had no access to water.
“So luckily none of them got hit or heat exhaustion or anything. It was really warm that day,” said Sheriff Bottom.
Since word got out of that discovery, hundreds of people have inquired about the dogs, which are now being cleaned up and cared for at the Humane Society.
“They could have easily been hit, ran over, been a victim of coyotes, out in the county,” said Bottom.
