BEREA — The Browns could have a starting quarterback by the time they hold another practice at their own facility. Or, they could still be in the midst of trying to navigate the unwieldy four-way competition they've been dealing with for the last several months.

There's a chance the two joint practices Aug. 13-14 in Philadelphia against the reigning world champion Eagles will provide the final piece of evidence coach Kevin Stefanski needs to name a starter for the regular-season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals . There's also a chance it lingers on into the next week.
