SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Law enforcement is set to hold a press conference Tuesday to release further information after two Lowcountry women were found dead last week in Sumter County.

Deputies with the Sumter County Sheriff's Office responded to a location on Richbow Road on Friday, Aug. 8, around 1:17 p.m. A landowner reported he had found two bodies in a clearing on his property, the sheriff's office said.

Kristen N. Grissom, 38, of North Charleston, and Christine Marie McAbee, 35, of Walterboro, were identified as the victims found in the clearing.

Investigators believe the homicides are isolated and that there is no known danger to the public. Sheriff Anthony Dennis requested the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division assist in the investigation.
