A city centre street in Edinburgh has been locked down by police after a cyclist was reportedly knocked down by a car. ‌

The incident took place at around 9.30pm on August 11, on Nicolson Street sparking emergency services to race to the scene. ‌

A cordon was then erected on the road with an ambulance in attendance. ‌

Buses were diverted while emergency services handled the scene. An eyewitness told Edinburgh Live: "a man was on his bike in the middle of the road" and a bike was beside him.

Bus services for routes 2, 3, 30 and 31 were among those diverted. No casualties have been confirmed at this point.
