Klein Cain High School alum and 2025 NFL first-round draft pick Matthew Golden has turned his first paycheck into a life-changing gift for the woman who helped make it all happen.
Golden, who was selected with the 23rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers, said his top priority after signing was to buy his grandmother a home.

The decision stems from a history of struggle in his family. Several years ago, the family lost their property, leaving them without stable housing at times.
“It was hard growing up without a home,” Golden said. “But I feel like God put us through that for a reason. That’s what keeps me going as a man.”
