KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The public is invited to attend one of several town halls being held for the proposed law enforcement center for the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office and the Kearney Police Department.

The town halls begin Monday and will occur until Aug. 22, excluding the weekend. Below is a look at the locations with the meetings taking place at 7 p.m.

Buffalo County voters will decide in September whether to fund a new co-location for the Kearney Police Department and the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office.

The estimated $72 million project will be built just southwest of the current Buffalo County Courthouse on South Central Avenue.

The two agencies have shared their current space for over 30 years but have outgrown the facility.
