MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A Tennessee appeals court has affirmed the 50-year prison sentence for the man convicted of murdering a 20-year-old pizza delivery driver in 2002.
In September, Louis Holloway, 43, was sentenced to 50 years in federal prison after killing John Stambaugh, a University of Memphis student , in the Cooper-Young area.
On Monday, the appeals court ruled that the sentence was reasonable, “considering the horrific nature of the offense and Holloway’s very serious criminal history.”
Prosecutors say on Sept. 8, 2002, Holloway robbed John Stambaugh, who was in the area delivering for Pizza Hut, and killed him with a shotgun blast.
