MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — Like clockwork, the volunteers at Monroe County Meals on Wheels in Hamilton Township get ready for their routes.

Larry Yoziak of Brodheadsville has been a volunteer for 10 years after seeing the impact in his own family, "My mother-in-law was living by herself in Plains, and she started getting Meals on Wheels, and I noticed how much of a benefit it was to her health and safety."

The non-profit used to host Meals on Wheels Day to highlight its mission, but it has now expanded it to a whole month of raising awareness for its hundreds of clients.

Monroe County Meals on Wheels Special Events Coordinator Stacey Koeck says, "We have somewhere around 300, and we see the need growing as many organizations in the county do, and our goal is to continue to serve the county
