PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is dead after firefighters pulled him out of a burning mobile home Sunday morning. His family said one pet Chihuahua was also killed in the blaze.

Phoenix Fire crews responded to a mobile home park on 15th Avenue, just north of Hatcher Road, around 10:30 a.m.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and flames emanating from the windows. Crews then made their way inside, facing several obstacles like boxes and personal belongings stacked high.

“That probably led to his inability to get out of the mobile home at a time that could’ve saved his life,” said Rob McDade, the spokesperson for Phoenix Fire.
