KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Police Department continues to search for the shooter who claimed the life of 16-year-old Traelynn Sibley over the weekend.

Organizations like KC Mothers in Charge are calling for change and justice for the teen's family. The organization provides support services to family members of homicide victims.

"We can't live in our own homes and be safe or visit someone," said Rosilyn Temple, founder of KC Mothers in Charge. "Whatever the situation was, this little girl should still be here."

The 16-year-old was inside a house near 36th Street and Norton Avenue Saturday night when she was struck by gunfire. KCPD said the shots came from outside the home.
