CAMERON, La. (KPLC) - Cameron Parish officials are considering merging ambulance districts, a move they say would give the parish more coverage.

Cameron Parish Ambulance District 1 serves lower Cameron Parish, while District 2 serves Hackberry. However, there is no ambulance service in the Klondike and Lowry area.

“The jury identified some gaps in services in our community within the ambulance service district. Their priority is to make sure that they are providing a reliable service at a cost-effective measure to every resident regardless of where they live,” Cameron Parish Administrator Katie Armentor said.
