VERMILION, Ohio (WOIO) - Vermilion High School students are going to have to find a new way to get to class this school year. The superintendent, Dr. David Hile, announced they would be pausing school bus service for grades nine through 12.

“It just continues to get worse,” said Superintendent Hile when talking about the school bus driver shortage.

He says this was a hard decision and one he would rather not make, but the shortage of bus drivers is forcing the district to cut back.

“It is hard for people to understand that this is not an option. We aren’t choosing to do this. This isn’t a cost-savings measure. It is simply that we don’t have enough drivers to run all of our routes,” said Hile.
