Belleville council voted Monday to receive a new staff report that did not recommend adopting Coun. Kelly Henderson’s ask in June to explore looking at “steps necessary for disabling the automated speed enforcement cameras between the hours of 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. daily and provide a sample resolution.”

By receiving the report, council effectively took no action.

But that wasn’t the end of the debate as far as Henderson was concerned — she gave council a heads-up near the close of Monday’s council meeting that she will introduce a motion for council consideration at the next opportunity to virtually remove all speed cameras in the city.
