PORT ARTHUR, Texas — With the first day of school approaching, Port Arthur Independent School District is warning that about 1,000 students still are not registered and will not be allowed on buses or campuses without proof of registration.
Parents or guardians must accompany unregistered students to the main entrance of the district’s Support Services Center, 3701 Highway 73, at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12. The entrance faces Highway 73, not 9th Avenue.
“Unregistered students will not be allowed on any PAISD bus or campus without proof of registration,” the district said in a Facebook post.
District officials stressed that registration is required every school year, in part to ensure the district has current contact information for all students.
