INDIANAPOLIS — The City-County Council passed a proposal at Monday night's meeting updating the county's curfew ordinance.

Under Proposal No. 232 , children between the ages of 15 and 17 must be off the streets between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday and from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. during the week. Children under the age of 15 must be off public streets between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. every day.

The curfew hours could be impacted by a Public Safety Curfew, "a temporary, earlier curfew set during times of heightened community safety concerns," the council said.

Under a Public Safety Curfew, 15- and 16-year-olds would be required to be off public streets by 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and by 9 p.m. the rest of the week, with the curfew ending at 5 a.m. each day. Children under 15 would nee
