CHEROKEE COUNTY, S.C. - Cherokee County voters are set to decide if they want to allow Sunday alcohol sales, following a unanimous vote by county leaders to place the referendum on the November ballot.

Currently, alcohol sales are prohibited on Sundays in the county, but the referendum could change that for beer and wine sales outside Gaffney city limits.

"It'll allow them to get permits to sell alcohol in, Now, when I say alcohol, I mean, like, beer and wine," said Ken Moon, a member of the Cherokee County Development Board.

Danielle Hord, who works at a local liquor store, believes residents would welcome the change.
