LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - For thousands of Arkansas families, dementia is more than a chronic condition. It’s a daily struggle to give loved ones a better quality of life.

“Imagine taking care of your grandma or grandpa or parents for so long and the dementia. It just wears you down because you are repeating things, you’re having to remind them, and check in on them consistently,” said Shannon Sparrow, a home care specialist with Right at Home.

She is working to change this reality for many Arkansans by partnering with families through the Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience program, known as GUIDE, and providing them with the resources they need.
