BLANFORD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - A meeting was held Monday in Blanford discussing the proposal of a lithium-ion battery storage park.

At Monday night’s meeting, residents were given a detailed outline of how energy storage systems impact the community.

Plans to create a facility have been in the works since 2023 with several environmental assessments taking place between then and now.

Project officials reminding residents that these buildings are not hazardous or noisy and can operate in various climates.

Those opposing this project wanting to make it clear, the town already has three large solar fields as well as several other storage facilities.
