Erie, Pa (WJET/WFXP)-- It’s been well over a month since Marchello Woodard was fatally shot by a state parole agent in the City of Erie, and now the Pennsylvania Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 92 is demanding a new policy in response to the aftermath, with a letter sent to the PA Department of Corrections.

The letter said the department’s failure to adopt a formal policy left the agents involved in the Woodard shooting “without procedural guidance or basic protections” after the fact.

“The inaction is no longer just negligent, it’s dangerous,” said Tom Wines, Executive Director of FOP Lodge 92. “The absence of any guiding policy left these agents without formal direction of procedural safeguards in the critical hours and days following that incident.”
