Following a violent downtown brawl, Cincinnati city leaders have yet to take the state up on its offer to provide more "comprehensive" support for local police, according to Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine.

He announced plans to send the Ohio State Highway Patrol to assist with crime reduction efforts nearly two weeks ago.

DeWine says the state is offering to provide troopers with OSHP's Aviation Unit, troopers to patrol the streets, help with searches, pursuits, adult parole, liquor and traffic enforcement.

Cincinnati police chief Terri Theetge said when plans were first announced that they haven't declined resources and are evaluating how to use them.
