CHP Auburn said its focus is to make sure everyone gets home safe, and one impaired driver on the road can change lives forever. The checkpoint has proven to be an effective way to achieve the goal of safety, and it is designed to augment existing patrol operations.

"A DUI crash or arrest can be avoided by designating a sober driver or utilizing a rideshare service,” said Captain Andrew McCulloch, CHP Auburn Area Commander.
