(TNS) A Kentucky man charged with attempted murder called 911 after shooting the victim, claiming self-defense, according to court documents.
The shooting happened early Saturday near the Monterey community in Owen County. Kentucky State Police said Gary Bullion, 52, shot Jamar Douglas, 26, multiple times.
Douglas was flown to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead about 24 hours later, according to the Fayette County Coroner’s Office. State police said Douglas was from Louisville.
Bullion’s arrest citation says he called 911 to report the shooting just before 2:30 a.m.. Bullion told the dispatcher he met Douglas online and picked him up at an unknown location and brought him to his listed address on Old Frankfort Pike.
