Luckily for our subscribers, all of the Tulsa World photojournalists are licensed drone pilots.

As you see on today’s front page , drones help us get an angle previously not available to our gravity-bound local journalists.

That doesn’t mean they don’t take the stairs, climb the hills and walk long distances to get up high to take the shots you see on our pages.

Photojournalists Mike Simons, Stephen Pingry and Daniel Shular each studied and passed tests to earn their drone licenses. You can say the Tulsa World is doing what it can to support what Tulsa is going after: The title of “drone capital of the world.”
