Police have issued an update after a shop worker was stabbed on a Moss Side street.

Officers were called out to Princess Road at 10.20pm on Sunday (August 10) after a 51-year-old man was stabbed outside the Richie and Nickie Liquor Store, on the corner with Alison Street.

The incident came as people had gathered in the street hours after celebrating Manchester's annual Caribbean Carnival .

Video footage, seen by the Manchester Evening News , showed a crowd at the scene as officers arrived.

In an update issued this morning (Tuesday), GMP confirmed that a 54-year-old woman remains in police custody for questioning in connection with the incident.
