Police in Chipoka, Salima have arrested five men for allegedly possessing 451 bottles of suspected counterfeit glycerine.

The suspects have been identified as Innocent Norman, 24, of William Village, T/A Mphuka in Thyolo; Breza Chiyembekezo, 18; Melo Chiyembekezo, 21; and Tiyanjane Chiyembekezo, 19, all from Khisimisi Village, T/A Ngabu in Chikwawa; and Dickson Munyepu, 22, of Ulolo Village, T/A Kaduya in Phalombe.

According to Salima Police Public Relations Officer Rabecca Ndiwate, the arrests were made in the early hours of August 11, 2025, when officers manning the Chipoka roadblock stopped a vehicle (registration BS 2447) traveling from Blantyre to Salima.
