Rye library staff votes no confidence in Board of Trustees

Aug. 8 − To the Editor:

The staff of the Rye Public Library has made a majority vote of No Confidence in the Board of Trustees. With the exclusion of Michael Moody, members of this board have repeatedly acted against best practices, library policy, and state statute in their recent behavior. Joe Marttila, Julie Tucker, Victor Azzi, and current Chair JoAnn Hodgdon have acted outside of the scope of their responsibilities as Trustees of the Library. The staff has made multiple efforts to resolve issues and heal the damage caused by the above-mentioned Board members and have been dismissed, disregarded, and insulted in response.
