Bafta albert, the UK screen industry’s environmental sustainabilty organisation has teamed with the Sustainable Entertainment Alliance (SEA), a consortium of studios, broadcasters and streamers, to launch a guide to help define and track production emissions for international productions.

The aim is to make clear the definition of different emissions, described as Scope 1, 2 and 3, on a set, who is responsible for them and how to account for them.

Scope 1 emissions are direct emissions from sources owned or controlled by a production; Scope 2 emissions are indirect emissions from purchased electricity, steam, heating, or cooling; and Scope 3 are indirect emissions from activities up and down the value chain, such as emissions from business travel by means not owned or controlled by a
