NBA legend Michael Jordan won $400,000 in prize money at the prestigious White Marlin Open fishing competition last week.

The 62-year-old used his $8million sportfishing boat for the event and was part of the crew that reeled in a 71-pound White Marlin.

His son, Marcus, was also on board for the competition.

The crew, aboard the boat named 'Catch 23' in homage to Jordan 's incredible NBA career and signature jersey number, came in second place.

They won $400,000 as a result.

However, Jordan and Co missed out on the huge $4.27m first prize.

Dan Gough of the Billfisher won the event after catching a 72-pound Marlin.

The weather had forced competition organizers to open the Saturday and Sunday to fishing.
