The Perseid Meteor Shower lighting up skies back in 2015

Stargazers are in for a treat as the Perseids meteor shower is set to reach its spectacular climax tomorrow.

NASA has hailed it as the " most popular meteor shower of the year" . The Royal Observatory reports that the meteor shower began on July 17 and will continue through to August 24.

Throughout recent evenings, the displays have been building in intensity, with Tuesday expected to deliver the most dazzling performance.

UK observers should anticipate seeing meteors from the moment the sun disappears below the horizon. Jupiter and Venus will also make their closest approach to Earth today and tomorrow, offering sky-watchers a chance to witness these two planetary bodies, reports the Mirror .
