Syracuse, N.Y. — A woman accused of causing the death of a man in a Syracuse bar by pushing him over and kicking him said “good” when she heard he might be dead, court documents show.

Marisa M. Connelly, 41, pushed Lawrence J. Baker, 68, of Syracuse, from his bar stool twice unprovoked on May 31, police said in a criminal complaint filed in Syracuse City Court. She then kicked him while he was down, police said.

When Connelly learned Baker may have died, she was heard saying “good,” police said in the court papers.

Baker was found unconscious inside Guilfoil’s Irish Pub at 501 Burnet Ave. and taken to Upstate University Hospital, where he later died, police said in early June.

Connelly was charged Monday with second-degree manslaughter.
