A small private school in Miramar is seeking answers after they said they were locked out of their building by the city on Tuesday.

A group of students and staff with Light Academy showed up for class at the community center at Vizcaya Park but said they weren't able to get inside.

Principal and founder Cassandre Davis said the private school, which has 10 students and just started this year, had a normal school day on Monday but found the property locked on Tuesday.

""We are beyond frustrated, we are so disheartened. We've done this work with Miramar for over a year in setting this up," Davis said. "We have our students, we have staff, we have families, we've all put in an enormous amount of effort to make sure that this gets done."
