Where good news shines
Bob Stitt has another building job on his hands.
Colorado School of Mines was unranked and among teams receiving votes when the AFC Division II Coaches Poll was released Monday.
Stitt, who once helped build the Orediggers into an RMAC powerhouse, returned to the head coaching position in Golden in February.
No. 6 CSU Pueblo and No. 10 Western Colorado were the RMAC's representatives in the preseason poll, which pegged Ferris State at No. 1. Pueblo and Western previously were chosen as the preseason co-favorites in the RMAC.
Colorado School of Mines opens its season at West Texas A&M on Thursday, Sept. 4.
