About a week after the Everett AquaSox saw two top Seattle Mariners prospects — Colt Emerson and Jurrangelo Cijntje — depart the team following promotions to Double-A Arkansas , another top prospect is arriving in Everett as a reinforcement.

The Mariners assigned Ryan Sloan, a 19-year-old right-handed pitcher, to Everett on Sunday from Low-A Modesto. Sloan is the fifth-ranked prospect in the Mariners organization, and is first among pitchers. According to MLB , he’s the No. 42 prospect in all of baseball.

With the AquaSox on the road, Sloan is expected to make his debut in Hillsboro against the Hops on Saturday, according to the Seattle Times’ Ryan Divish . After that, Sloan would presumably make his first start at Funko Field in the back stretch of Everett’s six-game homestand aga
