Sarasota County School Board chair Tim Enos will resign from his District 5 seat later this month to return as Chief of Police for the Sarasota County Schools Police Department. His resignation takes effect Aug. 24.
Enos, elected to the board in 2022 and chosen as chairman in November 2024, previously led the district’s police department and has spent more than three decades in law enforcement, including 22 years working directly with schools. In a district communication, Enos said the resignation from the board allows him to focus fully on his “deepest passion,” which is ensuring the safety of students and staff.
